Four schools in which to pursue your dreams
The Gambia College was launched in four schools to address pressing public demand in Education, Agriculture and Health through communities of professionals in two main campuses. Schools are culturally oriented in the use of technology for training and recruitment pattern in view of quality assurance principles.
The management of each of the schools is prepared to support you, as a continuing or aspiring student in all your official and casual transactions regarding your education in the college.
School of Agriculture
The School of Agriculture primarily provides pre-service and in-service training for school leavers, staff from government and non-government departments and organisations, enterprising industries and small businesses. It delivers full-time training from the Brikama Campus.
It also organises workshops and seminars, all geared towards specialised training packages and current technologies.
The Extension Services of the school has been a stimulant in maintaining agriculture as backbone of the economy. The Higher National Diploma in Agriculture Programme prepares specialists with the requisite knowledge and skills for the production of quality crops and animals.➙
School of Education
The School of Education is the most authoritative teacher trainer for schools through the basic education certificates with capacity to enrol in thousands in its Brikama campus, some thirty-five kilometres from the capital city Banjul.
The Basse annex in the Upper River Region began operations in January 2020 to provide access to college education to people in the rural areas without having to migrate to the urban cities.
In addition to the diploma and advanced diploma programmes in education, the school offers a tailor-made programme on Early Childhood Development, and Catering and Hospitality. It has recently incorporated the teaching of Community Policing and Security Studies mainly for law enforcement officials.➙
School of Nursing & Midwifery
The Gambia College, School of Nursing and Midwifery aims to provide an education programme to ensure that nurses and midwives who are trained and registered meet the needs of society in the 21st Century and beyond.
The school in the Banjul campus provides students with worthwhile and memorable experience with state-of-the-art learning and recreational facilities.
Amenities such as sporting pitches, cinema and auditoria add the magnitude of conducive learning environment provided for by air-conditioned classrooms, libraries and outdoor basements. The Banjul campus is known for its student centeredness and professionally competent management and staff who place high value to quality outcomes.➙
School of Public Health
The School of Public Health offers is located in the Brikama campus aims to meet the growing challenges of our time by training increasing numbers of public health professionals.
The school offers a flexible and interesting academic programme with in-depth studies of the contemporary public health issues confronting the world, especially the developing countries.
Each programme involes practical field attachments besides the contemporary learning environment.➙
